MOTHER 3: Fan Created Transhack This Week

A collective scream of joy has occured from Earthbound fans around the world (English speaking countries at least) this week, as it was announced that the fan created MOTHER 3 English translation patch is going to be released this week. That's right, all you westerners will finally be able to play this wacky adventure a mere 2 and a half years after it's original release.
The patch will not be released as the full game, no surprise there, nor will you be able to simply go out an buy a boxed copy (at least, not legitimately). In order to use this, you must own a programmable flash cartridge and the original title (both in binary and physical forms). After that it is as simple as patch, flash and play. Or you could just use an emulator.
I can think of at least a few fans of Earthbound that have been vigorously hammering F5, anticipating the birth of a download link. Maybe this will be the incentive that Nintendo needs to start bringing this series back to the US (and EU) shores.
Testing Finishes, Patch This Week [MOTHER 3 Fan Translation]

Nintendo should just place this on the new DS's download service. Create a legal avenue to obtain this fan translation.
If the DSi has downloadable GBA games, I agree wholeheartedly.
All they really have to do to make this happen is slap a block of ram where the GBA cart bus was mapped. :/ It would be sad if they overlooked this ability.
Nintendo legitamizing fan efforts by buying their work? Aint happening that company is way too hard ass. Not even the relativly open anime/manga industry goes that far. Not to mention if it's true that they got rid of the GBA hardware on the DSi then not only would they have to translate the game, they have to port it as well. One wonders how many sales would justify such a move.
I had to re-read that headline a couple of times. Someone is creating a Mother 3 themed "trannyshack" this week?? (aka the famous SF drag extravaganza). I am so there!
There is a god.
Woohoo! It's out and I'm ready for some Mother 3 goodness.
