Nintendo Points? Still System Specific.

So the Nintendo DSi was announced, and Wii Points mysteriously became Nintendo Points. This was to unify the naming between the points used on the DSi for downloadable games, as well as the points used in the Wii Shop Channel. Turns out, the naming is the only thing to be unified.
... Nintendo doesn't have an overarching account system to control digital distribution. Just as a precautionary warning the slide below confirms point cards cannot be used on a Wii and DSi. One card, one console.
In short, those 200 points that always seem to stay in the Wii Shop Channel wallet are going to stay there as they are non-transferable. Lack of architecture, or horrible cash scam? You decide!
Nintendo Points Are Either Wii Points Or DS Points, Not Both [Siliconera]

I'd say lack of architecture.
Although, I really don't mind it so much. It just means I have to manage points between systems, it's not like it's hard to do.
A lazy ill thought out scam that everyone will go along with, yep, it's a Nintendo day.
Me and my fantastic R4DS do not agree with this plan.
Wait a minute. So Sony was able to integrate their handheld with their home console in practically one update.
Yet, Nintendo has spent many, many console generations to toying around with handheld/ console connectivity...and they still don't have a cohesive plan in place? No universal point system!?
C'mon!
Ok so all that talk about the DS linking up to the Wii in some sort of meaningful way must have been subtitled: "After the 2nd major hardware revision of the DS, coincidentally right at the moment when most every one who planned to buy a DS has already bought one".
I thought all that wonderful DSWii connectivity was something that EVERYONE who purchased a DS would enjoy. Excuse me if I feel cheated for buying two different models of the DS and feeling like somehow Nintendo thinks that wasn't enough.
Well good luck Nintendo, you've really dropped the ball this year. Have fun selling people stuff they already have, again, during a global depression. Funny how Sony has managed to get their crap back on track and Nintendo managed to jump the shark, again.
I have to second Neo, my R4 has been a great tool in making sure I only buy decent games on the DS. The vast majority of the games aren't even worth the time and bandwidth downloading to demo.
Agreed, it's Nintendo's business model to do as little as possible and be lauded with applause for been regressive and infuriating, as evidenced by their ridiculous profits, proving people will buy brands blindly, no matter the curse/cause.
Their games and hardware are needlessly inferior, and connectivity is night on nil, but still they sell truckloads, safe brand for safe people.
My R4 has ensured I've never bought a DS game, on the plus side, if I couldn't have my R4 I wouldn't have bought a DS, so it's not like they're losing sales as I wouldn't buy any games for it anyway.
...don`t forget to mention DSi software (downloadalbe and cardridge) is goin to be region LOCKED!
The question is: what will the games for DSi be?
Well... don“t have to mention it would suck if yer not able to play some games when the only camera-feature will be something like adding your face into the game (on some character).
