Rumor: EA Tapping Starbreeze For New Syndicate

Gamers of a certain age may remember Bullfrog's tactical shooter Syndicate, published by EA for the a variety of consoles, as well as the PC, in the early 1990's. We haven't seen anything from the series for a while, but if recent rumors pan out we may soon see the first new entry in more than a decade.
Back in February, EA sent word that they were teaming up with The Darkness and Riddick creators Starbreeze to reinvent a classic EA franchise. A number of options were bandied about that that point (I had my money on System Shock), but according to CVG, this is the game that they were talking about. Presumably the title would move from an isometric view to the first person, which has been Starbreeze's specialty so far, but until the game is confirmed, all details are purely speculation. A few years back, Peter Molyneux expressed his desire to revisit the series, saying that a "next-gen online version of Syndicate would certainly be popular with gamers," although these rumors don't seem to include him at all.
I'll admit that my memory of the game is hazy at best, but it sounds like it was a little ahead of its time. Hopefully the new developers would continue to push the envelope with a new entry in the series.

Dear god.
I want this to be true, I would sacrifice every MMO everyone else plays to please, please make a great update to Syndicate.
One of my favourite games of all time, and easily the best game on the Amiga, please.
I love Syndicate.

I can only hope that this is true.
I don't get excited by games much anymore but I'm sure this game would manage to suck away every little piece of a life I may have once had.
I hope they remake that awesome soundtrack as well.
P.S. I don't like being told at the age of 20 that I'm of "a certain age"!
I want a new Syndicate game, but only with a "Peter Molyneux presents" not EA!
