Rumorama: E3 2009

Since E3 2008 succeeded in creating a brand new ghost town in California, the rumors circulating the net are nothing to be surprised at. According to the fine fellas over at G4 next years convention is looking to go back to its roots. Gone will be the appointment only demos (most of 'em, anyway) and game companies will return be annoucning games with the pomp and circumstance we're used to. Here's what G4 said on their site:
It will happen on June 2nd-June 4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. While E3 2009 still won't be technically open to the public, the ESA plans on getting rid of the rigorous vetting procedure that has kept attendance down for the last couple of years. So expect attendance to shoot up by the thousands!
So what does this mean for the average gamer? If E3 becomes the wacky festival of years past we can expect a greater presence of developers which means more games to cover and bigger announcements. Perhaps E3 2009 will be capped with the announcement of a brand new console. One can only dream.

So it's still not open to the general public. How then are they going to up attendance?
Even though I'll never be able to attend an E3 anyway, I find these elitist expo/convention/whatevers annoying as hell.
In all fairness though, at least they're not organised by two overhyped self-important unfunny imbeciles.
Well Nexus, As far as i know, E3 hasn't ever, even in it's glory days, been open to the public. they just had so many tickets floating around plus it was easy as pie to sneak in that it seemed like it was, i could be wrong though.
