Stop! Thief!
Sometimes you read a news story that reaffirms your faith in the human spirit. This is not one of them. You sometimes read about videogames and violence, people shooting each other or stealing consoles to sell for drugs or whatever... but this is just wrong.
In Croydon, South London, a thief stole a little 8-year-old girl's Nintendo DS right out from under her nose. Can you believe it? The girl's mum, who declined to give her name for the story, declares that her daughter was left terrified by the experience. "He smiled at my daughter, continued to wait, then made his move and snatched her Nintendo DS," she reports. "I called the police and people who saw it chased him but he managed to get away."
The police are investigating the theft, and I really hope they catch him and chop his hands off. Leave the kids alone!

Wow. I have no words.
I hope the little girl gets her DS back. But, SERIOUSLY.
As a south-Londoner myself can I just make the point that for us - this isn't that suprising. It's just another story of another scum-bag.
Croydon is also one of the mored horrid places in a rather horrid area.
Not that any of this makes it better or more excusable of course.
Croydon is also the only place in the UK to have a haircut named after it, done by scum to make them look like younger scum, the "Croydon facelift", pull all the hait back as tight as you can into a ridiculously tight ponytail.
It makes 35 year old great grandmothers with 6 kids look like 32 year old prostitutes.
Also, poor kid, I hope they catch the guy [they won't] and inject carbolic acid into his retinas.
