Video: 20x2 Couples
For those of you that have never ventured to the Oasis that is Austin, Texas, you are really missing out. With events like Austin City Limits, Game Developers Conference - Austin, and South by Southwest (SXSW), there is always some showcase of music, video, games, and other media to behold in the lovely jewel of Texas (and I'm not just saying that because I went to college there). The video above comes from an event put on at SXSW every year called 20x2, in which they give 20 directors 2 minutes to answer the themed question of that year. This year the question was "What's the difference?". Looks like Rannie Turingan from Toronto decided to take a currently political hot topic and push the theme of 20x2 even more by showing pictures of 20 different and diverse couples on their respective sofas during the 2 minutes he was giving and asking the question "Is there a difference?".
I post the video, partially because I was also happy to see many videogame references from different couples in the video: the lesbian couple playing Rock Band, one couple playing Wii, another playing Xbox 360, and the last gay couple playing on their Nintendo DS. It not only shows that what the genetic makeup of a couple is not what makes a couple, but that neither is what they do in their free time; What only matters that they do it together. A big message to get out there to all those people that may not understand our preferences, no matter what they may be.
Just last night, Fruit Brute and I were at a game event where right next door a "Vote No on Prop 8" fundraiser was going on in the space right next door, which got a lot of game journalists talking while waiting to get in to the event. The issue is really heating up, as are many others in states all across the country. Fruit Brute reported just last week about the recent ruling by Connecticut's Supreme Court to recognize gay marriage. Issues are building up all over the country, so just make sure you try and do your part, no matter what it may be, to help people see that we are all alike and deserve equal rights, no matter how different we each may be, I know people like Rannie Turingan are.

a gay marriage ban should be a hate crime... man the US is really f***ed up when it comes to priorities of government.
I find it outrageous, that this site recieves ad revenue from yes on 8 banners.
Hey all, I want to apologize for the Yes on Prop 8 ads that are showing up on this article. Unfortunately that ad is served up via Google which gives us our ads by keywords. We have taken action to have the ads blocked on the site, but it takes 24-48 hours for the changes to happen through Google. Obviously we do not support Yes on Prop 8 and we have been running No on Prop 8 ads for over a month now as well as writing many articles about it. Once again, I apologize if you are offended, but it is not entirely in our control. Thanks
Yeaaah... Austin is the most overrated city in the US.
why are (almost) all of the couples white?

@Ugh- IMHO I've lived here, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Chicago and Bangkok Thailand..Austin doesn't seem over rated to me..seems to live up to its reputation just as much as every other city I've lived in.
