Video: Resident Evil 5 "Caves" Gameplay
I hate giant spiders.
The first time I faced a giant spider in Resident Evil 2, I tossed the controller and immediately went out for a walk, unable to even be in the same house as the game. Their enormous furry legs and that unmistakable hissing sound haunted me, and for a while, it felt like every game needed to put some kind of giant spider in, probably just to taunt me. The Resident Evil series had always been a particular bane, at least up until RE4. That one was blissfully free of giant spiders, with only a few smaller ones scattered around, unable to do any real harm. Now, from the video above (a cam vid from the floor of TGS), I see that the makers of the game have decided to bring this particular enemy back for Resident Evil 5, and although these versions don't seem quite as terrifying as, say, the giant tarantula boss from the Resident Evil Remake, I'm sure they will be plenty shiver inducing to major arachnophobes like me.
After the break, see another cam vid from RE5, this one with fewer spiders, and more co-op gameplay versus infected tribesmen.

Oh Sheva, she's practically sexing Chris with her eyes! It could be his newborn baby-sized upper arms...
Chris needs to pick up things from the floor more:D
It does look good, even though it seems to be another "action-shooter" rather than some real biohazard. however... is it just me or is the leveldesign kinda "uninnovative"? a village, some facility in the middle of the ocean, a ship, a castle, NOW some underground ruins and caverns. RE 4,5 anyone?
We even get kinda the same enemies too. Parasites, chainsaw-people, a giant (as seenin a previous vid). GEEZ!
Can't wait to show my brother, the consummate arachnaphobe (he's hyperventilated around them a few times).
They sure love jumping Chris' bones.
First time I've ever found myself jealous of giant mutated spiders.
Okay, I much preferred when gg.net was a spider-free safe space.
the game looks really good graphically, and I know I'm going to be pissed when I get to the spider part.
Is that Sheva girl seriously going to walk 5 steps and then stand directly in your line of sight throughout the entire game? I hope she is shoot-through-able, if she's going to begging for attention like a puppy all game.
Did anyone else notice that?
Yeah TC, I noticed that too. Looks like that'll get very annoying very quick.
It does appear like you'll be able to shoot through her though. So that's something I guess.
So, if your partner dies, it's game over.
That sounds somewhat daunting.
Ho-ho-hooooooooh sheit, I can't wait to play this game. I was excited now, but I really had no idea it was co-op and... well, my roommate and I... we need it so hard.
