Video: Yakuza 3 TGS Trailer

One of the more criminally overlooked games at Tokyo Game Show this year was Yakuza 3 for the PS3. While it seems like the states has been sluggish to pick up on the series, the truly epic action-adventure-fighter-RPG series is a pretty big hit in its homeland. The third numbered installment (the less said about the spin-off, the better) promises to really kick it up a notch in the visuals department and some great looking environments for mob-related craziness.

It's not too late to jump in the series now. While waiting for the PS3 sequel to show up, you all should check out Yakuza 2, which welcomes new players flashbacks to the original's rough, but serviceable storyline.

Give me a Japanese voices option and I'm all over it. Both of them.

I thought the third one was set in the past or something.
Or is that that spin-off you mentioned?
What spin-off are you talking about anyway?

The PS3 spin off (already out in Japan) I'm referring to is "Yakuza: Kenzan!" The feudal-era spin off wasn't a numbered sequel and only loosely ties into the main storyline.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
