Weekly XBLA Update - 10/29/08

When I was in fifth grade I won an award for my amazing math skills. That was probably the highlight of my fifth grade career. While I may have this award in my trophy case, there is no way I'm going up against Jeff "you might be a tired joke if..." Foxworthy and the gang at Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Those of you looking to see just how much actual knowledge you know can download the game for 1200 points. I'll wait until they release the pop culture add-on. What I will be downloading from XBLA this week is (deep breath) Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two. Also 1200 points and continuing the story from the first game, ya'll know I'm a fan so I'll just stop talking about it until after I actually play through it. As reported earlier, an exclusive demo for Tomb Raider: Underworld is also available for download this week, ensuring that every free moment you have can be spent on your 360.
Finally, a week without Rock Band DLC is not a week at all, so this week we have a Siouxsie and the Banshees track pack for 440 points that includes: "Hong Kong Garden," "Kiss Them for Me," and "The Killing Jar" which are also available on their own for 160 points. Also available for 160 points are the following:
- "Well Thought Out Twinkles"--Silversun Pickups
- "Melatonin"--Silversun Pickups
- "Pretty in Pink"--Psychedelic Furs
- "Dammit"--Blink-182
I don't hear your Xbox 360 downloading yet. What are you waiting for?

OK, I'm probably just really stupid, but those two typos in the second and third sentence made me feel sooo illiterate, because it took me like, 10 minutes to figure out what was going on.
Typos? Where? Now I feel illiterate. D:
I do apologize for my typos this morning. A night filled with Little Big Planet has caused me to only be able to correctly type the word "sack" which trust me, is not as hilarious as you'd think.
How was the first Penny Arcade game, in terms of fun and gameplay? I was thinking about downloading it on the PSN since it's an action/RPG, but wasn't sure if I would like it since I don't find the comic strip as amusing as many other readers do.
