Metal Gear Online Expands With MEME
Circle November 25th on your calendar, soldier. On that day you will download the new Metal Gear Online expansion pack, dubbed MEME, and you will go into battle against other warrior-philosophers across the world. Konami's press release states:
Konami has unveiled the release date and more details on MEME Expansion - the latest upcoming Metal Gear Online™ expansion pack for the ultimate squad based, tactical shooter based on the Metal Gear Solid Universe. MEME Expansion will be available as a bundle with Gene Expansion for pre-purchase November 18th and officially released for download and play on November 25th for $14.99 and available separately for a SRP of $9.99 via the Metal Gear Online's in-game shop. MEME Expansion will contain a vast amount of content that will thrill Metal Gear Online players - with new maps, special characters, new skills, the ability to play as customizable characters, and more.
You've got two download options. If you're behind on the expansions or new to the game, you're going to want to download the Gene Expansion which now comes bundled with MEME. If, however, you are a battle hardened soldier, you can download the expansion on it's own for just under ten bucks.
As for additional content, Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling are showing up as special characters, and am I the only one who finds the idea of Mei Ling participating in battles a bit out of character. Then again, she did command an entire naval ship so popping enemies in the head is probably second nature to her. Speaking of head shots, players can now turn off head shots, meaning no more dropping like a fly thanks to a well place shot to the back of your melon. An official tournament lobby adds more structure to matches and gives rewards to winning teams. Pretty nifty eh?
Activate those naomachines for next week, you're going to need them.

2 new special characters
o Liquid Ocelot - Has the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots lock system with the Guns of the Patriots ability. In multiplayer, the Guns of the Patriots deactivates targeted enemies' entire weapon system.
o Mei Ling - Has three special techniques - Trench Mortar, Soliton Sonar, and the ability to transfix an enemy.Additional Rules and Settings - These can be played without purchasing the second expansion pack
o No Headshot Setting: In this setting, headshots do not equal instant death. Headshots will cause the same amount of damage as a regular shot to the body.
o Stealth Death Match: In this mode, you will begin the match with stealth turned on.
o Interval: In this mode, players can practice strategy and also chat with each other without worrying about ranking or records.Official Tournament Lobby
o Enables players to compete in a series of difficult battles where the winning player wins in-game gear and/or reward points that can be spent on character customization.New Avatar Gear - Players can also customize their avatar with comical gear.
