Video Hype Train: Deadly Creatures
All aboard the hype train! Toot! Toot!
You ever see or hear of an idea and hate yourself for not thinking of it because it's so obviously awesome? That's exactly what Deadly Creatures is! This creepy crawler brawler takes players on an arachnid adventure that pits players against some of the... wait for it... deadliest creatures! Featuring fighting moves you would expect to see in something Heavenly Sword this game doesn't look like the setting of your run-of-the-mill issue of National Geographic.
According to the official website, the game will allow players to take on the roles of a scorpion and tarantula attempting to survive a harsh desert while fighting predators and fellow arachnids alike. The presence of mankind shows up occasionally as two humans, voiced by Dennis Hopper and Billy Bob Thornton, search for some type of treasure in the cruel wasteland.
Honestly, I'm super-stoked for a game like this. I may freak out at the sight of a real spider, but the idea of swinging around as one sounds like a lot of fun. The dark presentation doesn't hurt things either. If THQ's Rainbow Studios give this a slight "edutainment" bent, this could end up being the perfect polar opposite to my other favorite nature-inspired game, Endless Ocean.
Brutal, vicious, and highly poisonous, the Wii exclusive slithers into stores mid December.

I'm just gonna put it out there: Deadly Creatures is one of my most anticipated games this year.
