When Games Collide: Disgaea 3 and Prinny DLC

prinnypsp.jpg

Nippon Ichi is one of the shinning stars of low budget game development. Easily one of my favorite strategy publishers, they produced the hit series Disgaea, a fantastic mix humor, self-reference and maybe some well-balanced combat. Did I mention really really large numbers?

Not only do they enjoy self-reference, they also enjoy a good plot cross over. Nearly every Disgaea title receives cameo appearances from previous characters, and now Nippon Ichi has announced additional appearances as DLC.

Disgaea 3 will be receiving a package that will create a prinny with a red scarf and a slew of special attacks. Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero anyone? The downloads do not stop there. Mao will be making an appearance in the Prinny title, along with 3 downloadable missions, the first which is free (as in beer).

Prinny is definitely a purchase that I am going to have to make in the near future. It is nice to see Nippon take a break from the usual isometric turn based strategy and change it up a bit. I didn't even have to give up my blessed prinnys!
