Dickens On Your DS

Nintendo seems bound and determined to find as many non-gaming uses for their products as possible. Their latest experiment is Nintendo UK's partnership with publishing giant HarperCollins that would turn the Nintendo DS into a digital book. The 100 Classic Book Collection will launch in the UK on December 26 at about £20, allowing you to use your touch screen to browse the works of William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens, amongst other literary giants.
Nintendo executive James Honeywell told The Times, "When you go on holiday, or if you're a commuter, lugging around a big paper book can be a bit of an inconvenience. Now you've got this whole library that you're taking with you. We hope to encourage people to try books that they wouldn't go out and purchase themselves."
Unfortunately, this deal is for the UK only, but if The 100 Classic Book Collection is a success, Nintendo will definitely be bringing it to other territories. I'm not the biggest fan of Shakespeare or Dickens, but I hear Sherlock Holmes is being included, so that could be cool. I do wonder how comfortable it will be to read an entire book on those tiny little DS screens.... You UK Gay Gamers will have to let us know if you try it out!

Or, you could grab a homebrew cart, load up DSOrganize, and include any books you want from the Project Gutenberg archives.
I'd buy that, it'd be perfect for airplanes... having just three books takes up tons of space in my backpack. I don't think there'd be any problem with my just importing it... if French Animal Crossing works in my DS (although it doesn't transfer to City Folk), i'm sure this would work.
I love carrying around books. ,_,
