Do It Yourself: Pocky Edition

Need a last minute idea for something to bring to a gamer New Year's Eve party?
What's the tastiest treat to be munching on during your anime and gaming binges? Pocky, of course! The confection is quite common all over Japan (and oddly at Wal-Mart in smaller quantities), but can be a little bit harder to find around here in the states and can be on the expensive side when you do find that last box of Berry Pocky. So what's a fanboy/girl to do in these troubling economic times? Get in the kitchen and make them yourself! Thanks to the guys and gals over at Japanator and Planet Green, we can now all try our hand at creating the crispy snack and perhaps find a topping more delicious than the Almond Crush variety. Due to the site's nature of being "unhealthily obsessed with anime," there's not a doubt in my mind that has to be the most accurate recipe for the treat. If chocolate is too sweet and you're looking for something salty, I'm sure that it wouldn't be too difficult to turn this isn't a recipe for Pretz.
After many struggles, the art of cooking is something that still eludes me to this day. My boyfriends of the past and present can confirm that I should not come within reaching distance of any lemon pepper, but the chance to make my own Pocky is too tempting to resist. Luckily the recipe doesn't call for anything too complicated other than "mix it all up and bake," so I may be able to actually pull this one off.
