Hardcore Gamers Buy Used Games Least

Let's begin with the definition of a hardcore gamer, as stated by Interpret, the company behind the recent survey which concludes the hardcore do not buy used more.
These are gamers that own four or more platforms for gaming and play a wide variety of genres.
Fair enough, I guess that makes me a hardcore gamer. Now what the study found is that us hardcore gamers buy about 19% of our games used. On the other hand, it also says that the hardcore buy the most games, about 5 every six months which really isn't that big of a surprise, then again some of us buy a few more than 10 a year, I think I average about 20. Some other stats, and interesting gamer titles, are as follows:
Interpret found that the other groups - Casual PC Preferrer, Role-Strategist, Education Gamer, Lead/Rocker Gamer, Racer- Arcade and Sim, MS Primary Shooter/Squad Commander - all purchase between 20-35 percent of their games used. The one standout was the Console Omnivore - Adventurer, which buys an incredible 41 percent used. Interpret describes these gamers as those who own three gaming platforms and play a wide variety of genres.
Where's the Console Carnivore- JRPG Fanatic category? Many of the Omnivores find themselves frequenting GameStop over any other store, a fact that is both unsurprising and rather alarming that one company seems to have a stranglehold on the industry. If any conclusions can be drawn, it would be that used game stores do have a voice in the industry. Can used game sellers and game makers ever come to an amicable relationship? They'd better, because used gaming isn't going anywhere.

I wouldn't say I'm hardcore gamer...but I also won't buy used games in most cases. Usually it only saves me $5 or $10 and with Gamestop you're lucky if you get a booklet and/or the case that belongs to it. I like to keep my games looking good..and frankly..used games look like they came out of someones butt most the time. I'd rather spend the extra and get a new copy.
I used to buy only used games, but then I got a real job and I became impatient and now pretty much everything I buy is new... Sometimes I'll head to my local gamestop during a buy 2 get 1 sale looking for specific titles, but that's about it... Unless I get a hankering to play an old out of print game, of course.
Casual PC Preferrer... that's me? Yay! I am counted!
So, wait... people with 3 consoles and lots of genre interests buy 45% used games, but add 1 more console, again with wide genre interests, and used purchases drop to 15%? How does this make sense? What is this magical fourth console that transforms buying habits?
I have no idea what they mean by Console Omnivore - Adventurer, but it sounds like I might belong too that group.
Even so though, I would say I buy about 70-80% of my games second hand. And that's only in recent years. In the past it was 95%.
Casual PC Preferrer? (not even a word)
Role-Strategist? (you mean RPG and TRPG? Or RPG and Strategy? I'm confused)
Education Gamer? (Is this someone who plays games or teaches them?)
Lead/Rocker Gamer? (Why didn't they just say Guitar Hero/Rockband?)
Racer- Arcade and Sim? (are these two really the same thing?)
MS Primary Shooter/Squad Commander? (We call those FPSs, or Shooters)
Console Omnivore- Adventurer? (It must have been Wacky-term Friday at the office)
Who payed for this study? I seriously doubt, given the language they are use, that they even talked to a single "hardcore" gamer.
five every six months? maybe if it were a slow six months. . . .
Hardcore gamers buy used games least.... because hardcore gamers buy games on launch day.
