Nintendo Responds To Racism In Animal Crossing DS
Whooops.
So, funny story. The new Animal Crossing for the Wii, Animal Crossing: City Folk, apparently will download content from the DS game, Animal Crossing: Wild World. So in a nice gesture, Nintendo sent out copies of the DS title to reviewers that had saved data on them, so they could see how this worked.
Unfortunately, whoever put the existing content on these cartridges forgot something. Occasionally, the residents of your town will ask you to come up with a new catchphrase for them. The game also tends to virally spread such things when residents move to other towns via the internet. This leads to situations like the one shown above. Nintendo responded to this today.
Previously played copies of the 2005 DS game Animal Crossing: Wild World were sent to 14 members of the media to demonstrate the ability of players to transfer items to the new Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii. We regret that an offensive phrase was included without our knowledge via a wireless function that allows user-generated catchphrases to spread virally from one game to the next. This version is limited to 14 copies created for media review purposes only and is not available at retailers. We sincerely apologize for the incident and are working with media who received the game cards to return them to Nintendo immediately.
Next time, I'd say unlock the content yourself... or work on that content filter.

How clumsy of them why not just get a fresh copy or a previously played, but controlled copy.
I was thinking that this was going to talk about how your AC characters are all types of white but not a shade of color, except if you leave the game running under the sun while not wearing anything and not going inside, only for two months during the summer or something and doing it frequently or else you turn white again.
