Top Obama Speechwriter Games His Heart Out
Barak Obama's top speechwriter, Jon "Favs" Favreau (not the actor), who's been touted as "totally synced up" with the pres-elect and who has "access to everything and everybody" is also a big time gamer:
Three months ago, Favreau lived in a group house with six friends in Chicago, where he rarely shaved, never cooked and sometimes stayed up to play video games until early morning...When the [campaign] pressure wore on Favreau, he unwound like a 27-year-old, sending prank e-mails to friends at the Obama offices or playing the video game Rock Band in the Lincoln Park group house...
This is good news, of course, but it doesn't exactly surprise me - I remember being in a fiction workshop at college with the guy who went on to become Al Gore's speechwriter during the 2000 elections, and he wasn't too different from Favs. Of course, it's a very special gamer who can rock out to Linkin Park in Lincoln Park.
