Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0013.JPG

Dear Diary,

This week was terribly busy in Narnia. It's getting colder now, and it even started snowing. More on that later, though. I've been incredibly busy trying to pay off my mortgage before the bf. The first town we lived in together, it became a race to try and build the biggest house first. Naturally, I won, and received the beautiful gold statue in the center of town. His was silver. Hm. I wonder if it's still there. I'd go back to check, but I'm terribly afraid of how decrepit that town must be now. I was the only one who seemed to take care of anything!

I'm a total clotheshorse, and I've been buying things at the Able Sisters' shop, hoping to get both pieces eventually. But imagine my delight to find that they had both parts of the bear outfit at the same time! I snatched that one up and have been wearing it ever since. Sometimes with glasses, sometimes with a clown nose. Depends on my mood. Oh, and remember when I mentioned last week that a football fish was only 400 bells, dear Diary? Well, I was wrong. Because I think I got it confused with a zebra turkeyfish. Those are only 400 bells apiece. The football fish is 2500! Touchdown indeed! That helped me when I was fishing like a fiend and paid off my second mortgage before the bf. He was right on my heels, though!

Oddly, I noticed that we both seem to be able to find a bell rock each day. Did you know that if you hit a rock with a shovel, sometimes it'll release bells onto the ground? It's super-easy money! I've heard that the axe swings faster, so you can get more hits in, but those break, and I don't have an indestructible gold one yet, so the golden shovel it is. Yeah, I got one of those, too. All you have to do is bury a regular shovel and when you dig it up the next day, it's turned gold! I thought that once he found it, I'd be out of luck, but even after he insists he'd found it, I found a different rock that gave me bells. So that's good for both of us!

Remember when I complained that you couldn't request a song off of K.K. Slider during his concert? Well, I guess that was just for the first gig, so he can explain how things work. Because this week, you could. I tried requesting K.K. R&D, but I think it might have been D&R, because he played some weird thing I didn't recognize, and then apologized for not knowing that tune. I'd heard it on the stereo in someone's house, but now it's gone, and I don't remember exactly what the song was called. Too bad, too, because I liked it. I couldn't think of anything else to request, so I chose the other request option and told him I was feeling grumpy. So he played Imperial K.K. to cheer me up! I also visited another town and discovered that you can all enjoy his shows together. It's fun! I requested K.K. Salsa, and it was great, but just after that, someone else tried to enter the town and everything fell apart. At least that's only the second time the world has frozen around me. I don't like when that happens. It's creepy.

The third expansion to my house was just a bigger room. It's huge now. I was really hoping for another room or an upstairs. Last Sunday I overslept, but this week I was up early enough to find Joan. I bought 100 turnips at 106 bells each, which is kind of high. I also bought a packet of red turnip seeds to plant and if I can water it every day and keep it in good shape, I'll get a mint when I sell it in a week! Gotta do what you can to make more bells! I alternate between planting more out-of-town fruit and selling it because you get more money. It's annoying, because I feel like it takes longer than ever before for the fruit to grow back. It also seems to take forever for trees to grow to full size in the first place. But maybe I'm just impatient.

I've also noticed that my townspeople aren't really big on the errands. Me and the bf have each been asked by different people to pass messages on to each other, and you usually get some useless piece of tat for that, so it's not a complete waste of time. Octavian lost his key in the river, but I quickly fished it out and gave it back. He said he was super-grateful, but all he gave me for a reward was a crappy carpet. Jerk. Oh, and everyone seems really eager to meet people from out of town. It's like me and my bf aren't enough for them. If you don't like it, move out! No, seriously, I wish a couple of them would move out. I'm desperate to get Drift or Apollo to move here from Astoria.

Alli also told me a rumor that if I picked a 4-leaf clover in Poo Town, it would make it easier to find fossils. I'm not sure I believe that, but it's certainly already easier to find fossils than it is a 4-leaf clover! Apparently, that could be the town charm for Poo Town, because someone told me that Katrina, the mystical fortune-telling cat in the city, can tell you your future or what could bring your town luck. So I went, and she told me that for December, Narnia's charm was that if someone cut down one tree in Narnia then it would make it easier to find lost items. Whatever that means. So the other day, I had one of my visitors chop down a random tree because I couldn't do it myself. Now we'll see if it has any effect. Probably not, because Katrina did warn me that the visitor might be the one to reap the reward. Not fair!

By the end of the week, it was already snowing in Astoria, so I went there a couple nights in a row to do some fishing. The fishing is better when it's snowing or raining, it seems. I ended up catching quite a few coelecanths, which are worth 15,000 bells each! So those, combined with a couple tunas and a slew of sea butterflies, helped me actually pay off my third mortgage before the end of the week! Now I get to have an upstairs! The only problem is, while I've been using whatever mushroom furniture I got during November's mushroom hunting season, I don't know what new furniture theme to use upstairs! There's so many options to choose from! I'll let you know what I decided on next week!
