Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
This week was Christmas! Although nobody in Narnia actually calls it that. It's all "seasons greetings" this and "happy holidays" that... dang political correctness. It was a good week in that I finally received a silver watering can in the mail from Posey Farms as a thankyou for buying so many of their flower seeds. Good. Now I can finally stop putting flowers everywhere and concentrate on my hybrids. I'm dong quite well, although no black roses yet. Still, I don't know what I have to do to get my town perfect so I can get the golden watering can. I want to be able to make gold roses. Although I've heard rumors that the silver can will bring withered turnips back to life, which is good!
Although it was a bad week in that I bought my first forged painting. Sigh. At least I didn't get in trouble with Blathers. He just didn't want to see it again. Stupid Redd...
Well, we also got our new villager this week when Pompom moved in. She's cute, I guess, but honestly, I prefer the grouchier characters. Like Fang. Oh, and speaking of Fang, he apparently caught whatever's going around, because like Rodeo the other week, Fang came down with a cold. At least it's not like the bugs in the last town I lived in. It seemed like you had to feed them medicine for the better part of a week before they felt better. Here they seem to recover after just a few days.
I had such a bad experience last week with the turnips, losing money in the stalk market, that I almost didn't buy any this week. But I did, and managed to make a slight profit. Although when I think about it, I probably just came out even after taking such a beating last week! I've also been trying to build snowmen whenever I can find both snowballs, but I still have my off days. But I have made enough happy snowmen that I've earned myself a few pieces of furniture. I've also taken to collecting outfits. Right now, because of the season, I've been wearing my Festive hat and Jingle shirt, to which I added the Regal beard that I found in the shop one day. Makes me look just like St. Nick!
I've also noticed that Sable started getting chatty. When I first moved to town, Mable was the only one who would talk to me, and she was all business. Sable didn't even talk at all, because she was too busy sewing her fingers to the bone. I'd think she was some kind of indentured servant, but now that she's opened up to me, it seems like she actually enjoys slaving away for her sister. Crazy. Although the girls do sometimes get into spats. Usually if Sable is telling some embarrassing story about Mable. It's cute. Although I hope I'm not caught in the middle if there's a big blowup!
But the big news this week was Christmas. Or whatever generic holiday they seem to want to celebrate here in Narnia. On the evening of the 24th, Jingle came to town. I found him wandering around in front of Tom Nook's with a big bag of presents. I chatted with him a bit, then he asked me some questions about what kind of a present I might like. In the end, we settled on something big, but all I got was a Jingle chair. And it wasn't very big. I'd heard that this reindeer wasn't very bright, and if you changed your clothes, you could get another present, so I gave it a shot. He sort of seemed to recognize me, but then totally thought I was someone else and gave me another gift. This time I got carpet. I would've kept going, but I had to go out of town to my relatives for Christmas, so I had to stop there. Too bad. I just keep getting all these incomplete furniture sets. Oh, but one other cool thing about Christmas Eve was that Jingle said he could sometimes be found leaving presents in people's houses, so you could check. I ended up finding him outside both times, but I was totally able to sneak into people's houses when they weren't actually home. Normally that's forbidden, but I guess in this case, it's allowed. It felt weird being in someone's house while they're out, though! I didn't like it. It felt wrong!
I'm psyched because next week is New Year's Eve, so there's fireworks scheduled! Yay!

Wootini, you are adorable and so are your diary posts! Keep 'em coming
I look so forward to your posts. I LOVE Animal Crossing and though I haven't jumped into the Wii one yet...your posts really entertain me and make me miss Animal Crossing more than I should. Definitely keep 'em coming!!
These post are so cute! Just like Wootini ^_~
In the old Animal Crossing wasn't Christmas called "Toy Day"? In this one it's "The Night Jingle Comes to Town". Please. I love Animal Crossing but that holiday name needs a bit of work, guess their creative juices ran dry with the game's dialogue which is superb! Also, I bought red turnip seeds and watered the damn thing every day and after two days it died.
Pompom lives in my village too, she's just kinda there, she's almost never outside and barely talks. She did refer me to Redd's though.
Like others, I absolutely LOVE these posts. AC is one of my favorite games, but amazingly I never knew about some of these possibilities. I need to go back and try some of these out in Wild World.
Thanks for the very entertaining cute reads, and Happy New Year! Hopefully the fireworks for the Wii will be slightly more impressive than on the DS.
I used all my hybrids, flowers, masks, patterns, and Gracie apparel to trick Jingle until I got the complete set, which was around the time I ran out of costumes. When I sold the excess Jingle stuff I got while trying to complete the set, I made over 160,000 bells! Now I've put the Jingle Set upstairs and I've got over 100,000 HRA points!
