Xbox LIVE Holiday Deal Of The Week: Foo Fighters On The Cheap
So Microsoft has decided to launch what they're calling the Holiday Deal Of The Week for the month of December, giving discounts on various Xbox LIVE product. It started the first week of December with the Legendary Map Pack for Halo 3 receiving a one-week discount of 1/3-off. This week, the sale product is the Foo Fighters' album The Colour and the Shape for Rock Band. Originally priced at 1600 Microsoft Points, for this week only, it will be 1200 MPs. Also, because this sale is a program for all Xbox LIVE regions, there are a few regional discrepancies. Since this content isn't available in Japan, they're instead getting a discount on the song "Live For You!" for The IDOLM@STER (900 points down from 1200). And in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan, the deal will instead be on the Foo Fighters Pack for Guitar Hero III (375 points, down from 500). This is what happens when you try to offer global discounts on product that's only available in certain regions.
Additionally, you should know that this special pricing is available only to Xbox LIVE Gold Members. And the deal is ony good for one week (hence the name, Deal of the Week), so if you want it, get on it. I apologize for not alerting you all to the first week's special (hope nobody wanted a discount on the Halo 3 map!), but I promise to let you know each week what the new deal is. (Hopefully it's better than this one -- I mean, Foo Fighters? Really? Eh.)

Foo Fighters is awesome. Too bad I already bought the album for my PS3 Rock Band 2...
Best Foo Fighters album. Not that I feel like doing anything but singing along to it. The guitar work is too repetitive to be fun.
I just had a conversation the other day with two friends of mine; not knowing that either of them even listened to the Foo Fighters back when this album came out.
IT went like this:
Steve - "Foo Fighters? Are they even still around?"
Me - "Yeah, not a fan of this new stuff."
Matt - "But, man, I love that one album... what is it?"
-Steve and I, in unison- "The Colour and The Shape."
Matt - "Yeah, and the best song off it..."
-now all three in unison- "February Star, I love that song."
So, if you want to diss the album, fine. But, give credit where credit is due. February Star is a beautiful song!
