Neversoft Gleams The Cube, Kicks Tony Hawk To The Curb

With SkateIt and its ilk piling up the skateboarding goodness and Shaun White stepping into the role of the new 'Guy Who's Sorta Famous For Balancing On A Board,' aging hottie Tony Hawk has nowhere to go, at least as far as games are concerned.
That's because Neversoft, which once lived exclusively off the income from the Tony Hawk games, has confirmed that it will no longer be making Tony Hawk games. This quote from Neversoft CEO Joel Jewett implies that there may be a new team somewhere hard at work on a Tony Hawk game, but I choose to believe otherwise:
"It's probably best for the franchise ... it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it,"
How fresh? I only ask because I'm trying to imagine ideas fresh enough to justify more Tony Hawk games.
Meanwhile Neversoft plans to continue releasing Guitar Hero sequels such as Guitar Hero: Metallica, which sounds like a much more lucrative idea for 2009.

Awesome! Best news I've heard all day. I'm so disappointed I won't be able to grind on a seagull anymore, though. Shucks. Maybe they stay away from making skate boarding games, giving SKATE the full spotlight.
Tony hawk pro zimmer frame perhaps?
or Tony Hawk pro mobility scooter?
