Noby Noby Boy Dated, Priced
Namco Bandai sent word that their upcoming PSN title Noby Noby Boy, the newest game from the creator of Katamari Damacy, Keita Takahashi, will be hitting the service on February 19th, at a price of $4.99. That's good news for bargain hunters, although it probably also means that you shouldn't expect anything too deep or paradigm shifting.
The title does feature a pretty cool community aspect, however. As people play, the game will tally up the scores (or lengths) from every network connected player and add the aggregate to a "persistent character" named GIRL. As GIRL grows and expands throughout the solar system, new stages unlock for all players of the game, so you're essentially cooperating with everyone in the world. That's some pretty crunchy hippie stuff right there.
February is looking good for PS3 owners who want smaller, unique experiences, with Flower from that game company also announced for that month. For all the problems Sony may be having this generation, I think that the PSN game exclusives are one of the things they're doing right, and I hope it's worked out well enough that they continue to take chances in the future.

This title will definitely be downloaded onto my PS3! I'm a *huge* fan of Katamari Damacy and this one looks almost as pointless.... can't wait :)
