Video: One Man Band Performs Zelda Medley
Meet Diwa de Leon. He is of hat loving man of Filipino descent and apparently "a professional composer, arranger and violinist," as well as having cosplay and playing video game music just for fun as his hobbies, which explains all the different hats he's wearing in the video. The good people over at Boing Boing were sent in the link above of Diwa doing an acoustic/a-capella medley of the different themes from the SNES game Zelda: A Link to the Past. I'm normally not a big fan of a-capella groups but luckily this is only one man and not 4-100 something pompous individuals and at least he has consistent visuals and a bit of violin playing in there to liven it up. Plus, listening to the music transports me back to when I was young and warp Link in-between the light and dark worlds to try and save Hyrule once again. Enjoy!

I like this one better!
Theres nothing worse sounding in my opinion than a single violin...
Theres a very good reason orchestras have so many. A single violinist will never hit every note perfectly in tune, regardless of their experience. Multiple violinists however, each with subtle variations on each note create a balance so you get the pure sound. Its the chorus effect. Its also the reason solo violinists use a lot of vibrato, to disguise the fact that they're never be 100% in tune.
Not that I'm saying anything bad about that guy... he's obviously very talented. Its just that for me personally its a little painful to listen to xD
