Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Well, this was an eventful week in Narnia, but not necessarily for good reasons. Some very upsetting things happened that I will get into in more detail in a bit, but let me just say that I am not very happy with the way some things are going in my new town. To start with, I somehow completely spaced on Saturday and missed the K.K. Slider show! Can you believe it? I don't know what I was thinking. It's a good thing that I'm totally in love with the song I got last time around and would probably keep playing that anyway. It's called "K.K. D & B" and it's awesome. Reminds me of an old '70s cop show. Not an actual one, but just the feel of it. Oh, and I found the most awesome Gyroid that sounds absolutely perfect with it! My main living room still looks like a bit of a mess, though. I took down the Christmas tree, but I'm still in the process of replacing all my Mush furniture with Snowman pieces. But since I still kind of suck at building snowmen, it's slow going! (I'm mad about that carpet, though!)
Oh, just as a word of warning, make sure to let your Red Turnips grow a whole week. See, I'd bought one last Sunday from Joan as I always do, but then promptly forgot about it and didn't plant it until Monday. So when I dug it up to sell it on Saturday, I only got 8,000 bells for it. Stupid. I suppose if I'd left it to Sunday and dug it up it would've fetched 16,000 as usual, but I was worried it might cause Joan to not sell me another seed on the same day. Can you believe I actually worry about such silly things? I also decided to splurge on White Turnips again this week, although I only bought 300 because they were running 107 when Joan was hawking them. I had a really good price on Wednesday, but instead of going up again on Thursday, the stalk market took a dive. In a panic, I checked a neighboring town, and thank goodness Castro had their gates open, because I sold all 300 at 322 each! I made a mint!
This week, Nookway closed down for remodeling, which surprised me because I thought it was pretty big already. Well, when Nookington's opened, I was in awe! Two stories, tons of items on sale, and little Timmy and Tommy work the upstairs, just like where I used to live! Okay, but it's not all wine and roses. No, the selection still bites. He never seems to have much of interest to sell, even though he's selling more stuff in general. But the worst part is the hours. Now he closes at 9:00! That's just ridiculous! How come the smaller store was open until 1:00 in the morning, then as it expanded, his hours get shorter and shorter? This just sucks. You know, some of us have to work all day for a living and don't get home until later in the evening, and it's annoying to have to rush to get to the store by 9:00 when he closes. You'd think Tom Nook, of all people -- er, animals -- would understand that! I've heard tell that soon enough he'll offer to expand his hours, and I'm totally going to take him up on it because even if it means a smaller selection of goods for sale, it'll just be more convenient for me to do my shopping around 10 or 11 at night. That racoon needs to work on his customer service!
I did have a bit of fun with my friends in town this week, though. So it wasn't all bad. Well, except for when Bud decided that he wanted to change my nickname from "Boss" to "Dumbbell." Really? How rude. And to think that later in the week when he told me he was thinking about moving out of town, I told him to stay. Hope I don't regret that decision! Oh, but Octavian decided he wanted to play Cat Burglar and Detective. I was the Detective, and he, Ankha and Pompom were the Cat Burglars. It was a fun game of hide and seek. I had 10 minutes to find all three of them, and they were hiding around Narnia. Octavian was easy, because he was just behind one of those little signposts that dot the landscape. Pompom was next, and she was just behind a tree. But Ankha gave me a run for my money, and I was seriously running out of time when I finally located her hiding behind her house. I had to run behind every building to see if anything was blocking my way, because you can't see back there. Very inconvenient. But it makes for a good hiding place! I should remember that if I ever find myself having to be the Cat Burglar for a change...

A good tip when needing to look behind buildings is to press 'Up' on the directional pad when you're standing behind the building. The change in view will allow you to see behind the building.
Adding to that, Patches... when being timed like that, it's faster to equip the slingshot and fire one when you need to see behind a building or trees.
i set my clock back 6 hours and told nook to Suck It. idk if i want to downgrade because i got the fountain and the earlier stores hardly ever had the axes in stock. that and the flower selection. keep that in mind before you downgrade.
i love these posts btw. so glad you do them.
Moose from my town gave me the nickname Dumbbell as well. I was quite unhappy about this, and I preferred my nickname from Wild World, which was Scout.
patrick: if you tell them you don't like the nickname that they suggest they will ask you what you prefer to be called instead.
Cat Burglar sounds fun, I've never gotten a chance to play that.
I was pretty tickled to get the nickname Sugar T. =D
OMG ANKHA IS IN MY TOWN TOO!!! ahha!
sorry, just had to yell it...shes cool and i love her. haha nerrrd=me sorry!
=]
My nickname is "lil guy". Not quite sure how I feel about that one. I loved my old one which was "Sizzly D". Half the town calls me one and the other half calls me the other.
