E3 '09: Bigger, Better, and Hopefuly More Awesome.

The ESA has let fly with some details about this year's E3. If everything goes according to plan, the new "new" E3 will be more like the old E3 from days of yore. The list of exhibitors has shot back up with prodigal developers like Activision, Bethesda, Atlus, Vivendi and Warner Bros. Interactive returning to the fold.
Last year's show returned to the LA Convention Center after a brief hiatus in Santa Monica the year before but it was very sedate affair with lots of empty hallways. To combat this, the ESA has also opened up the registration process allowing more people entry into the hallowed grounds. According to the press release, the registration will be open to "all credentialed international and U.S.-based media, industry analysts, retailers, developers and business partners." Now this still doesn't mean that it is open to the public, but what it does mean is that credentialed media will have an easier time getting in and can register themselves. The last two years, the policy was "invitation only" and those invites were extremely tough to get.
How the rest of the show will go is anyone's guess, but it looks like the ESA has more than a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to this year's event. Doubtless Tiny and I wil be back bringing you all the news from E3 and if everything goes according to plan, we can bring a few more reporters with us so we are not large piles of jelly at day's end. Plus it will give us more time to make another Video Scrapbook of Precious E3 Memories.
