Free Radical Finds New Sugar Daddy In Crytek

Last month Free Radical announced that it was up for sale, and I don't know about you but I had my fingers crossed that they would find a new home. After all, even if Haze wasn't the game people hoped it was, Free Radical was still responsible for Timesplitters, which was among the best FPS franchises last generation. Worry not shooter fans, Free Radical has found a new sugar daddy to keep them going, and his name is Crytek.
I am very much looking forward to the results of this purchase. So far the Cryengine 2 has mostly been used for extreme realism in games like Crysis, but Free Radical developers are mostly known for their more stylized visuals from games like Timesplitters. As nice as realistic graphics are, I'd take a stylized look any day, so I can't wait to see what the Free Radical team can do with Cryengine 2 technology. Cyborg zombie monkeys will have never looked so good.

I hope they continue with TS4 for the Wii and the other consoles, I was so looking forward to it!
