Free Your Avatar
Starting today, you can set your Xbox LIVE avatar free from the shackles of your Xbox 360 and share it with the world around you. All you have to do is visit the xbox.com website and select your own avatar or another, then add a background and props. There's Valentine's Day-themed stuff that's good for this weekend, but there's also generic birthday stuff and Christmas backgrounds. Oh, and apparently you'll be able to upload your own backgrounds eventually, which Microsoft seems to think will let you put your avatars into your favorite movie scenes or in front of landmarks you've always wanted to visit. I can only imagine what people will actually do with it!
I put together a little Valentine's Day pic of my avatar for you guys to enjoy, but you can also E-mail it or put it on your MySpace or Facebook page. Those, I didn't test out, because I'm allergic to MySpace and I don't want this ridiculousness on my Facebook page. But if my bf was a true gaymer, I guess he might appreciate getting a personalized Valentine's Day card starring li'l ol' me!
