Nintendo Reveals 120 Game Line-Up, Punch-Out!! Dated

If you're exclusively a Wii gamer, then you may be getting a little apprehensive about what games are on the horizon. Sure MadWorld is coming soon, and The Conduit got pushed back until June to look forward to, but you just don't hear as much about the Wii's upcoming games. Well, fear no more, for Nintendo has given us a full list of the Wii and DS games that will be coming out through this summer. A whopping 120 games in fact.
From Nintendo we get dates for some nice dates like New Play Control! Pikmin hitting on March 9, and New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on May 4. Punch-Out!! is also finally dated for a May 18 release. There is also a mysterious game from Nintendo called Excitebots: Trick Racing which will be coming out April 20 and sounds like an expansion of the Excitebike and Excitetruck series. Some third party highlights include The Conduit and Let's Tap hitting in June from Sega and Boom Blox Bash Party getting the ambiguous "Spring" release date.
The DS isn't being left out either, as the list details releases for the little handheld that could as well. Nintendo is bringing the addictive music game Rhythm Heaven stateside on April 5, and for the first time bringing the long-running Densetsu no Stafy series to the US with The Legendary Starfy on June 8. Third parties are also stepping up on the DS with Rockstar releasing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on March 17, and Atlus bringing the DS 9 titles including Shin Megami Tensai: Devil Survivor on June 23. Oh, and PopCap Games is releasing a little game called Peggle Dual Shot on March 3 to completely destroy all of your free time.
The future of Nintendo's systems is looking pretty nice. Although there are still some first-party Nintendo games that are mysteriously absent, like New Play Control! Metroid Prime and Mario & Luigi RPG 3, both of which released recently in Japan and still don't have US dates yet. But this list only seems to go through June, so here's hoping we'll still see those by the end of the year.

Holy crap! The Legendary Starfy! Finally! : D
What an incredible boring lineup.
For 120 games, I made out 3 titles that looks intresting. For me this proves what I said a long time.
Nintendo is for small kids and those really retro fanatics that think it was better before.
I mean, who (for example) is intrested in punch-out when SFIV is out on 360/ps3?
Nah, I actually hope nintendo start losing money again (which isn´t likely considering every fat (american) people think they going to loose weight if they buy a Wii and Fit) so they could focus on something funny (and REAL interaction design elements) and and console that can actually perform better than ps2.
Please note flamewars fans: I dont want them too do a handcontrolled console like 360/ps3...
"I mean, who (for example) is intrested in punch-out when SFIV is out on 360/ps3?"
Although those two series are not similar enough for an accurate comparison, I am interested.
The surprise here is the amount of content that Atlus is pushing out. I remember when they only had a handfull of releases in a year, but this is crazy. Also, Zeta, let's internet high-five in celebration of Starfy.
Where the &*@# is Prof Layton 2?!?!?!?!
@ Gumshoe
I (for example) am interested in Punch-Out!! (can't forget the exclamation marks) when SFIV is out on 360/PS3. I like SFIV, a lot in fact. But that has no bearing on my interest in Punch-Out!!, which is more about pattern recognition than an actual competitive fighting game. But different people have different tastes, so I guess not everyone will be excited for it.
But why are you hoping that Nintendo loses money? That just doesn't make sense, since it would help nobody. It doesn't help you, because if Nintendo lost money they wouldn't be making as many games, which apparently you won't be buying anyways so that doesn't impact your own gaming.
But there's also the matter of the industry impact. For better or worse, Nintendo has shown that casual games can be a viable market, and other companies have rose to the competition. Do you really think that titles like Buzz Quiz TV, Little Big Planet, Viva Pinata, and Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (among others) would exist, or have gotten the same push from publishers, if Nintendo hadn't proven that casual gamers buy games too?
Whether you like the contribution Nintendo has had on the industry or not, it's important to at least acknowledge that they have a huge impact. And even if it doesn't appeal to you personally, it's important to acknowledge that it very well might appeal to others, and they have every right to enjoy themselves.
Anyway, sorry, that's my rant against system hate.
*high fives Game-Boy*
And they even finally started spelling his name right - Starfy because it's short for Starfish, not Stafish. : )
Starfy has been a long time coming. Plus it's good to see Puzzle Kingdoms finally has a date.
Good god, what a horrific line up.
The software is killing the dust gathering console, nothing interesting, even casually speaking nothing outside of 4 maybe 5 titles are even high on the casual list.
Incredibly bad showing from Nintendo, third party support is as cynical as ever.
Where the hell is Wii Sports Resort? I'm ready for games to start using Wii-Motion Plus. Maybe they decided to leave that for the next Nintendo Console. After all, the Wii should have had that capability from the beginning.
Hate to be a flamer... but Neo, piss off mate, yet more pathetic comments from you. I'm sad your Wii is "gathering dust", maybe you should sell it. My wii gets daily play since launch, so much so I think I've nearly worn it out! With months of Zeldaing, Mario Karting, Smash Brothering and now Animal Crossinging (and others as well, my catalogue is around 40+ Wii games AND 60+ VC/WiiWare games). This is also true for a lot of my friends, I also have a couple of friends that don't play the wii that much. But what we agree on is that we have different preferences in the games we play and on what platform we play it on.
I'm sure you speak about your own experiences about the Wii.... BUT IT'S YOUR OPINION NOT FACT. Wish a lot of you guys would learn that.
Oh, and its official... the PS3 sucks :P

"BUT IT'S YOUR OPINION NOT FACT."
"Oh, and its official... the PS3 sucks :P"
I love it. You rip on someone else because they stated an opinion about a console that you are obviously obsessed with. And then, you state your own opinion on a console...
Wow. Hypocrite much?
You brought absolutely nothing to the topic at hand SuperSaiyanSamueru, so therefore you are not a flamer, you are a troll. Look it up.
As for the topic, I am personally looking forward to (renting) Punch Out! and Madworld...and that's...about...it...
120 games, with maybe 3 or 4 that sound remotely interesting, and no must-haves. This is pretty sad.
