Street Fighter IV Expands!
(And It's Not Even Out Yet!)
Street Fighter IV isn't even on shelves yet, but Capcom has already announced the first expansion pack for the game. The Championship Mode expansion pack will add some new gameplay including:
Replay Mode - Record, upload, and download top matches to share with the Street Fighter IV community. Players can analyze top tiered fighters matches, leave voter feedback for others, and share their own triumphant victories.New Points System - Two new points systems to measure your skill (Championship and Tournament Points)
Enhanced Tournament Matching System - Skill level matching system offers improved tournament match making for beginners and mid-level players. Competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments.
Sounds like features they just weren't able to include in the game in time, so they're adding it as DLC post launch. At least it's free! On the other hand, there will also be alternate costumes available for download for 320 MS points or $3.99 on the PS3.
2/17 - Brawler Pack DLC Pack will include alternate costumes for: Zangeif, E.Honda, Rufus, El Furete, and Abel.2/24 - Femme Fatale Pack will include alternate costumes for: Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Rose, and C.Viper.
3/3/09 - Shoruken Pack will include alternate costumes for: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, and Dan.
3/10/09 - Shadowloo Pack will include alternate costumes for: Seth, M.Bison, Sagat, Balrog, and Vega.
3/17/09 - Classic Pack will include alternate costumes for: Guile, Dhalsim, Fei-Long, Blanka, and Gen.
That's one of Fei-Long's alternate costumes in the image above (shades of Bruce Lee). It's nice to see that it's not just the female characters who show lots of skin for a change!

Wow I just saw all costumes in Joystiq and Fei Long and Abel's are really nice.

Wow, talk about nickel-and-diming your customers. $1 per outfit, *and* you have to pay for the luxury of getting better online matchmaking? Seriously? Why isn't this content included in the $60 price tag for the game itself?

That's actually on of the surprising things about SFIV. Yes, the alternate costumes for the female characters show the usually amount of skin.
But there is actually more male characters with revealing costumes this time. Abel, Ryu, Fei Long, Sagat, E. Honda, Guile, Akuma, Gouken, & M. Bison's alt costumes all have them in less and/or tighter clothing.
These guys are losing their pants, shirts, etc. like crazy. And it's about time. :)

SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADY. If it's free, that's pretty awesome. If not, I'm sure there's enough content to not need this stuff, but still. SHAAAAAAAAAADY!!!!
Probably my favorite of the upcoming alternate costumes will be Sakura dressed as Ryu down to the red sneakers from the original Street Fighter.
Also Zangief will be dressed as Mayor Mike Haggar, which is awesome almost beyond comprehension.
