Final Fantasy IV Sequel Headed To Wii

ffiv_after.jpg

Looks like we've got roundabout confirmation on Final Fantasy IV: The After Years from a rating information page at the ESRB. From the ESRB page:

This is a 2D role-playing game in which players embark on an adventure involving magical crystals and a mysterious kingdom. Players traverse across a field map or through dungeons and can enter into turn-based battles along the way. Players use a menu screen to select attacks or magic spells against tiny enemies (e.g., leopards, birds, knights, fish monsters, etc.) that blink and disappear when defeated. An item called "Bacchus Wine" is occasionally used to defeat enemies in battle.

Since its inception as a game for Japanese cell phones, the FFIV sequel has been rumored to be leaping to a new console. GameLife points out that since mobile phone game Crystal Defenders is officially coming to all three console platforms' downloadable stores, it won't be a surprise to see it on the PS3 or the 360, when all is said and done.

SPOILER WARNING

Surely it can't be a sequel in the traditional sense... didn't the majority of the characters in FF4 die :S

redlupine said:

now that they've ruined FF7 completely with horrible non-sense sequels, they're moving on to FF4?

They better stay away from FF6

Nice! Definitely will buy! Would prefer to buy on Xbox 360 but if it has to be Wii then so be it.

I'm pretty sure everyone except Tellah manages to come back, in some way or another.

I've known about this for a WHILE i am actually exited, i know square wont milk this like they are doing to VII, and hey IV is actually a good game. :3

but i agree, they better leave VI and (adding) VIII alone! although i did hear that they are remaking V and VI for the ds... not sure how true that is.
