Netflix Sticking To Xbox "For Now"
There have already been stories about Nintendo developing a platform for streaming videos on the Wii console, and earlier our very own Game-Boy reported about a job listing for Netflix in their "Gaming Platforms" team. I've been a big fan of Netflix for many years, and was thrilled when they enabled streaming via my Xbox 360. So intrigued, I dropped a line to my contact over there regarding bringing Netflix streaming to other consoles, and this was his reply:
While we are always looking to grow, for now our game console is Xbox 360.
I'd say that's a pretty definite no-comment-at-least-right-now-because-we-can't-say-yes- yet. The key phrase in that answer is "for now." You'd think they'd want to build up some momentum for expanding the Netflix streaming service, but maybe they're just hedging their bets in case they can't finalize deals with Sony or Nintendo. If I hear differently, though, I'll keep you guys in the loop!
