Pre-order Through Target, Get $5 Back
Finally, a retailer that is willing to give out the benefits for pre-purchasing a video game. Target has began running a program for pre-ordering video game titles, and is offering it with a fringe benefit. The offer: pre-order and get a gift card for $5.
The procedure is as follows:
- Buy "collectable" pre-order card for $1
- Wait for game release
- Redeam card at store
- Get game, and a $5 gift card
Seems far to me. There is no word if the $1 goes toward the purchase of the game. My guess is the pre-order card is a gift card in and of itself.

I just read the bottom of that Kotaku article about it, and it says that the $1 does not go towards the purchase of the game in reservation. That kinda stinks, oh well.
