REO Speedwagon/Styx Track Pack Hitting Rock Band

cantstoptour.jpg

EA has sent word that the next collection of tracks for Rock Band 2 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 will feature songs from two of the '70s and '80s most popular acts: Styx and REO Speedwagon. Excited? Start holding up those lighters now.

The songs included in the pack are:

  • Styx - Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)
  • Styx - Renegade
  • Styx - Too Much Time on My Hands
  • REO Speedwagon - Ridin' the Storm Out
  • REO Speedwagon - Roll With the Changes
  • REO Speedwagon - Take It on the Run
  • Styx/REO Speedwagon - Can't Stop Rockin'

All are masters, however the Styx songs are recently re-recorded versions of the classic tracks. Can't Stop Rockin' is a brand new collaboration between the two bands, created to celebrate this summer's joint tour, coincidentally called the CAN'T STOP ROCKIN' Tour. Seriously guys, have you ever even tried to stop rockin'? I bet it's not nearly as hard as you think it is.

The CAN'T STOP ROCKIN' Tour kicks off May 12th in Amarillo, Texas, and is sponsored by VH1 Classics and Rock Band. Every slot on the tour will feature a special mini-stage where attendees can try these new tracks out for themselves, or sign up to win Rock Band related prizes.

There are also three tracks from a band called Hautewerk coming next week - Stop Start Again, Alone in My Head, and I Know Where You Came From - but considering EA doesn't seem to have a financial stake in any tour they've got going on, they're pushed a few rungs down on the promotional ladder. Full press release after the break.
