Spying Gets Adorable With MySims Agents

I actually thought MySims was a pretty good spin on making The Sims franchise a little more kid-friendly (and me-friendly as well!), but I haven't been as interested in some of the spin-offs EA seems intent on making with the concept. But that all changed today when EA announced the development of My Sims Agents for the Wii and Nintendo DS.
"We're thrilled to bring you MySims Agents, the next game from MySims, and something completely different than any MySims game before," said Tim LeTourneau, General Manager of the MySims franchise. "Its mystery-meets-adventure theme allows players to hone their problem-solving skills while still enjoying all of the beloved MySims charm; characters, customization and humor."
Basically, you'll play a secret agent out to foil the sinister plans of Morcubus, and by recruiting different MySims, you can add their own special abilities to your team of spies to take the villain down. You'll be tracking footprints, using forensics, picking locks, hacking computers, and collecting clues across locations like a spooky mansion or an icy mountaintop chalet. Sounds like fun!
The DS version sounds more like a puzzler with mini-games, although there will be some character interaction. At least there seems to be some semblance of an actual plot this time around, which should help. Both games are scheduled for release in the fall of 2009. Guess I know what's going on my Christmas list!

Customizable? Tracking, forensics, hacking? Team?
I'm soooo recreating the Torchwood team. A chibi John Barrowman would be the cutest thing ever!
