The PSP Is Going To Hell

It looks like Sony's little handheld that wouldn't die is going straight to hell. Without dying, too! Yes, EA has announced that their action adventure title Dante's Inferno, previously headed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will be ported to the PSP as well. Which is good, because it's not a bad system — it just needs more good games. It's being developed by EA Redwood Shores, but also A2M, which unfortunately has done a whole lot of licensed dreck. But we'll see what they can pull off here.

"Our team and the team at A2M are taking the vision for Dante's Inferno and translating it directly to the PSP," said Jonathan Knight, executive producer and creative director on Dante's Inferno. "PSP owners can expect to get the same level of fast, responsive gameplay through all nine detailed and unique circles of hell we are aiming to achieve on the consoles."

In their favor is the fact that the PSP is capable of console-quality graphics, and since this game seems like a more literary spin on the God of War gameplay, they should be okay. I mean, the PSP handled a port of God of War just fine. So I have hope that they'll be able to make it through Dante's Inferno without getting burned. You see what I did there? Yeah, sorry about that.
