Video: Newest Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer
Witness the newest, emotastic trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which is bracketed by two quotes. The first, from Square, "This is a fantasy based in reality." The second, from and old, old, old FF7 fan by the name of Billy Shakespeare, "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
Does that apply to trailers?
Even with a handy translation, I'm not sure how those two quotes tie together, but this Japanese language trailer (with some bold Italian opera-"ish" quotes at the open) looks pretty phenomenal. Sure, it's not exactly brimming with gameplay, but we've come to expect a lot of flash from Square trailers. Still, the baroque music and ambiance make for a teasingly Final Fantasy experience.

Sadly even though this has no actual gameplay it is looking like I'll like it better than FFXIII...although I can't wait for both!

I stopped watching it after the first 30 seconds. This is an example of how NOT to use jump cuts.
While I'm not the biggest Nomura fan, I have to say I'm seriously drawn in by the fashionably modern design of VersusXIII. Noct is looking rather stylish.　Here's hoping we'll see some gameplay soon.

Okay, the few minutes they sat around and talked and I didn't understand anything was kind of lost on me but other than that! It was pretty neat. :3
Every iteration of FF is nearly completely different from its predecessor, so I don't ever think Final Fantasy can ever really be ruined unless the company goes under. That said, this looks pretty cool.
. . . okay I love the music but still it could have been better.
Am I the only person who looks at the main hero and think "OMG it's Sasuke!". I mean literally it's duckbutt himself. I wonder if we will see Naruto around somewhere and the bordering homoerotic rivalry/relationship bewteen the two of them. . . c'mon we all know Naruto and Sasuke are gay!
