Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
This week, it truly felt like spring as some of the trees turned pink and for a few days, cherry blossoms fell from the sky making everything look just so pretty. I tried taking some pictures of it, but it just didn't translate. You had to see it in motion. Other than that, it was a relatively average week in Narnia. Of course, the town message board has advertised that Zipper T. is coming on April 12 for Bunny Day, so that'll be something to write about next week! I don't remember him from any of the other towns I've lived in, so maybe this is something new. I'll be sure to get my shovel ready just like they say... I bet we're digging up eggs! Oh, also, this was the first week I think I've ever just not visited town since... well, probably since forever. At least as far as I can remember. I was really busy playing Rhythm Heaven and taking DJ lessons, so I wasn't able to make it to town one evening after work. Which just meant that the next day, there were twice as many weeds to pick and twice as many flowers that needed watering. Sigh. It never ends!
Just an odd observation to start out with: I was wandering around town on Saturday evening, and it was after 7:30, but not quite 8:00. I was in the museum having some fossils checked out, and thought I'd pop downstairs to the café to see what was shaking. Turns out that K.K. Slider is there doing a sound check until 8:00 when the show starts for real. Who knew? And why does it take him 30 minutes to tune his guitar?
So one evening, I was wandering around and I heard this weird noise. Kind of a squeaking sort of thing. I started looking up frantically because I thought it might be the mythical UFO that I've heard so much about, but I didn't see anything. Then I thought that it might be another underground insect like the mole cricket, so I started wandering around trying to focus on where the sound was loudest and then digging there. But very quickly I began to realize that the sound was loudest around Bud, who I noticed had fleas bouncing off him! Ew! Doesn't he even bathe? That's just nasty. So I helpfully took my net and nabbed one, putting him out of his misery. He thanked me for catching it, but didn't give me a gift in exchange. Loser. Go shower. Oh, but on the plus side, I did donate it to the museum, since I hadn't caught one before.
I'm so close to finishing the fossil collection, I can almost taste it! They've been harder to see now that the snow's gone, so I consider myself lucky if I even dig up one fossil a day. And since I'm only missing two, they're always doubles that I sell to Nook. So imagine my surprise when I actually found the parasaur torso that I've been missing, and managed to finish the last of the dinosaurs! Go me! Now all I have to do is find whatever single fossil goes in the middle of this shelf upstairs, and I'll be all set!
Look, don't ask me why Olivia was so excited to get a clothesline pole as a present. I don't ask questions I don't want the answers to. But I did appreciate that Ankha asked me to deliver the package to Olivia because it's been a while since any of my friends has asked me to run an errand for them. It's just nice to have something else to do besides fish for their house keys they lost in the river. Why do they do that so often? Oh, and there's always the occasional game of hide-and-go-seek. Those can be fun. I had another one of those this week, too. But you know what I miss the most? In the last couple towns I lived in, the townsfolk would share their letters with you every now and then. It was always funny because my bf would write them horrible things or dirty limericks and they loved it. I don't know why these people are so boring. I hardly write any mail at all because they don't do anything with it. What's the point? Aside from sending presents to keep people from moving away, that is...
And last, but certainly not least, this week I got another special present from Nintendo. I'd heard about online, so I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long for it to show up. In celebration of DSi day (whenever that is it's not on the calendar), Nintendo mailed me a DSi couch. It's a little odd looking, but pretty cool. I just have to move it down to the basement with my Mario stuff after I make some room. Oh, and you'll notice that I've redecorated my house with cabin furniture since it's not winter anymore. I still don't have all the pieces, though, and I haven't cleaned out all the snowman furniture yet, so it doesn't look very good, which is why I haven't taken a picture of the whole room yet. Maybe later!
