High Voltage Bringing Gory Gladiators To The Wii

High Voltage, developer of the highly anticipated Wii shooter The Conduit, has announced it's next game for the Wii, and it's a bloody one. Gladiator A.D. is a 1 vs 1 fighting game that the developers describe as a "hybrid between 3D Fighting games like Bushido Blade and Boxing games like Fight Night." But it won't all be fighting, as High Voltage promises a deep story mode for each character in the game accompanied by some RPG-like character customization.
Because the game will be an arena fighter with fewer characters on-screen, High Voltage has been able to bump the graphics up a notch from what they've done with The Conduit. I must say that the resulting half-naked beefcake characters are much appreciated, even if they will all be dismembered during the game. Controls will also be getting a lot of attention, with High Voltage providing Wii MotionPlus support to allow for precise sword swinging with the Wii Remote.
The game isn't expected to release until sometime next year, but with E3 only 6 days away, expect to hear a lot more about this one in the very near future.
