Mama's Cooking On The iPhone Now!

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Cooking Mama. Heck, I even placed second in the Cooking Mama Cook-Off competition at the Nintendo World Store when they launched the Wii version of the game. And now Taito's adorably cute cooking simulation is available on Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch! I downloaded the free "Lite" demo version to give it a shot, and have to admit that I was mostly impressed. The graphics are spot-on, and so are the sounds. The touch-screen works like the DS version, although now you get to tilt the iPhone/iPod Touch for things like melting butter in a pan or stir-frying. It's quite fun. I did have a little trouble getting the touch screen to recognize when I was doing the circular motion when kneading the mixture, but hopefully that doesn't impact the full game in a big way. Taito says that it includes recipes from the other games as well as all-new ones, but I haven't actually dropped the $6.99 on the full game yet because they don't tell you exactly how many recipes are included, and some of the early customer reviews have been complaining about how short it is. If I change my mind and buy it, I'll do a full review like I did with Dance Dance Revolution, but at this point, I just wanted to let you guys know it's out there and the demo version with one recipe is free to try!
[Thanks to Rubeezy for bringing it to my attention!]

I was a little disappointed with the demo version... If the touch recognition was smoother, I might be a fan. The opening and closing "curtain" transition was also old school... In a bad way. I guess I'm not a fan of this wootini-esque simplicity.
