Phantom Brave Wii... No Japanese

image238.png

One of the largest complaints I've read for the DS revision of Disgaea was that while the game included a voice over, it only provided the english track. I don't blame them, honestly. Audio is huge and the DS doesn't exactly have the largest medium for storage. If you're going to appeal to any audience, you might as well pick the largest one, right? Well, apparently NIS decided that they will be using the same format for Phantom Brave: We Meet Again.

The Wii remake of the PS2 strategy game will not feature the Japanese voice track. All is not lost though, the game will still feature additional game content and the same gameplay mechanics that fans of the previous incarnation enjoyed. I personally liked the lack of a grid system, something most games in the genre are welded to.

Hopefully this doesn't turn off most of the hard core fans. I for one will probably just stick to the PS2 copy that I have yet to beat. What can I say, the game is freaky hard.

Phantom Brave Won't Have A Japanese Voice Track On Wii [Siliconera]

yeah. . . . the English language track sucked. I think I will stick to my PS2 disc as well. (you can NOT tell me whatever new features they added remove the room for dual audio.)

then again, since the game lacks a new game plus mode, it is very difficult to bring myself to even reload the PS2 title. I don't want to have to scour for weapon building pieces for hours on end. (and really, in a Nippon Ichi title, getting those absurd numbers is what it is all about.)

No Japanese language track = No sale for me.

Ditto. I picked up Disgaea DS because it's understandable that there wouldn't be room for an extra lanaguage track. Heck, I think they cut out a lot of the English track in that as well. But there is no excuse on the Wii, which uses the same size disk as the PS2.

I wanna know why!

Wow, this was just the info I was hoping I wouldn't come across. I was PROBABLY going to give it a try, but no, Nintendo has to BS and not give me the Japanese track. Again. I would rather hunt for the PS2 version. I don't understand why they couldn't put the Japanese audio on there too.
