Shout Out: What Are Your Travel Games?

This weekend I'll be taking advantage of Memorial Day weekend by getting out of town for some well deserved rest and relaxation. All month I've been looking forward to having the next few days to myself in the wilderness "camping" (read: staying in a super-posh rental cabin in the wilderness of Georgia) with some friends of mine. But travel isn't entirely about where you go, but how you get there.
Dating back to my original Game Boy with Tetris and that semi-awful TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan, I've always looked forward to trips as a great way to get in some quality game time in with my handheld of choice. I have fond memories of the summer of '96 when I traveled to Nantucket and completed the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong Country. Finding all those letters on that dot matrix screen was a pain! On a cross country car trek in '92 I achieved what I still consider to be one of my greatest gaming triumphs: completing the Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog with all of the chaos emeralds in hand. This may not sound like a big deal, but the battery life of 'Gear required players to complete the game at a speedy pace or suffer the ultimate handheld defeat: running out of batteries on the last level. When I would fly back home to visit my folks I would never leave campus without my GBA and copy of Advance Wars. It didn't matter how many times I ran through that game, each play through was an absolute joy.
On my voyage today, I'll be running through a mobile DS gauntlet that includes Spider Man: Web of Shadows, Mini Big Bang, and pushing through my first real effort to complete the seminal classic Chrono Trigger (I'll also be playing some games that I can hopefully talk about openly sometime in the near future, stay tuned!). Thanks to my lovely executive assistant chauffeur enabler boyfriend, I'll be able to enjoy some quality handheld time and share it you all soon.
It's strange, but when I think back to the places I've been the finest details of these games immediately spring to mind and vice versa. They've become such an integral part of my memories that I thought it might be good idea to throw a few the questions to all the readers. What are your travel games of past and present? Do any destinations remind you of your gaming adventures of yesterday? What did you play on your last trip?

I actually took a grey hound for 21 hours qa couple days ago to N.C. My fiancee and I were playing Mario kart and party to keep us busy for a while. I played some Final Fantasy Advanced 2. Perry Moore's Hero also kept us bth busy. With about 2 hours left, we started to play the ABC game, where you try to find a words, then b words, etc. until you win with z. And on the 1st I get to do it all over again! Weeeee......-sigh-
When I was a kid, road trips at some point almost always involved Mario's Picross and Final Fantasy Legend II; the former because I'd just wipe the game and redo the puzzles (having forgotten the answers since last summer) and the latter because, to this day, I still haven't freaking beaten that game. That bitch Venus... *grrr*
These days, I'll usually find some RPG for a portable system I haven't had a chance to play and pick it up the day before I leave. The last game I had for a vacation was Mother 3.
I go very fundamental when I travel: I'll bring my DS with Picross, NYT Crosswords, and whatever RPG I'm working on at the moment.
Often I'll bring something more fancy but not play it - my poor PSP has been to lots of countries but has been played in absolutely none of them! So now I just bring what I know I'll always be in the mood to play: logic & word puzzles and RPGs.
First, I lol'd at Brutiny.
For me, the perfect travel games are usually casual. I've gotten a nice collection of rhythm, puzzle, point-and-click, and mini-games for my DS.
I use an eeePC that is filled with SNES and NES roms. I can then play them on my eeePC using a USB SNES or NES controller. Its a pretty nice setup I've been using during power outages or travel.
