Sniper Jarate And A Free Weekend
If you've been reading GayGamer about the upcoming updates that will be arriving today for both the Sniper and Spy classes in Team Fortress 2, then you know just how many new gadgets they've add to both classes to make them that much more fun (and quirky) to play. Looks like they also have decided to make the game free too, well at least for the weekend. More about that in a bit, first let me tell you about the zany reveal today.
I have to admit, that today's item revealed actually had me laughing a bit, especially if you read the accompanying comic. Apparently the Sniper is receiving a new tool called 'Jarate', an apparent jar based karate that the Sniper can throw on foe and ally alike. Thrown on a foe, they will take 35% more damage for a period of time. Thrown on an enemy spy it will short out their cloaking devices. You can even throw it on your allies to help put out a fire; however, no matter who you throw it on, it'll give them the shame of knowing that you just threw a jar of yellow colored karate all over them, a shame that still lingers even after water washes the liquid off.
So along with the Sniper and Spy updates going live today, Valve has decided to make this weekend yet another free weekend of play for Team Fortress 2 on Steam. That's right, all you have to do is get on Steam tomorrow and they'll have the files ready for pre-loading the game. You can play for the whole weekend free to try out all the new gadgets and weapons, all without any obligation of purchasing the game.
I have to admit, if there two things Valve has in spades, it's got to be good class and witty humor, and it really shows in these updates and constant free weekend offerings. Too bad I normally play as the Medic, but at least now my sniper friends will have some urine Jarate to dose the flames of those pesky Pyros.
