Video: Old School Transformers' Voice Actors Amazed At Newfangled Technology
Seeing Transformers vocal legends Frank Welker and Peter Cullen reunite on camera is arguably more rewarding to a Transformers fan than the movie, the game, or the sequels to both that are on their way: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
In case you're too young to remember (and let's face it, many of you young bucks probably are), Peter Cullen, AKA Optimus Prime, and Frank Welker, otherwise known as Megatron, were some of the most oft-heard cartoon voices of the 1980s. Just seeing these two old(er) cowboys mouth off like their respective robots-in-disguise is more fun than a barrel of mechanical monkeys.
There's not much going on here, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share the Brokeback vibe between these two cartoon colossi. You can hear why the illustrious Hugo Weaving was chosen to replace Welker's rusty pipes as Megatron (although he still voices Soundwave), but Peter Cullen is pure optimum gold. Autobots, let's roll!
