Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0244.JPG

Dear Diary,

This was a very frustrating week in Narnia. Lots of waiting around for things to happen, and sometimes they didn't even! Rude! There was another flea market over the weekend, but I never participate in those because there's nothing in my house I actually want to sell, and I don't think anyone else has anything I'd like to try and buy off them second hand. I know you can put fish in your house and sell them at a big markup sometimes (I've done it before), but honestly, it's a whole lot of work for not that much payoff. I just fished a lot one day this week when it was raining, raked in a few koi and made a mint!

I never talk to Tutu because I don't like her, and when she tried to get my attention, I totally considered ignoring her, but I didn't. Because I was hoping to hear what she actually told me, which was that she was thinking about moving. She wasn't sure if it was really going to happen, and I guess she didn't get that house she was hoping for, because the whole week went by, and Tutu is still a blight on our community! I need another crankypants like me!

I caught a diving beetle in the pond, although I have to admit, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use my fishing rod or the net because it was in the water! Turns out since it's a bug on top of the water, you need to use your net, but it was really hard to snag it without falling in — it's a fast sucker! Also, I totally checked out a fishing guide and discovered that a whole slew of new fishies are coming in June, so that's something fun to look forward to!

Octavian told me he wanted "refined" furniture, and I hate when they're all vague like that because I never know what they're talking about. When they say things like "modern" or "exotic," I know I can just buy them a piece of that furniture collection. Although I should probably be careful about giving these animals what they want because the last time I did that, Fang decided to move away! Still, Nook was selling an odd clock in the store that day, so I thought it looked pretty refined and picked it up. Turns out I wasn't wrong, because Octavian totally loved it. Weird. I only got a persian wall for my trouble, though, so whatever.

While fishing, I happened to catch a zebra turkeyfish, and I thought I recalled someone recently asking me to let them have it if I came across one. I thought it might be Sally, and sure enough, I was right, but as it turns out, the fickle little squirrel had already changed her mind in the meantime. It was only a couple days! Whatever, I just sold it instead and pocketed the bells. Probably got more bells for the fish than for whatever piece of crap she would've given me in exchange for it.

I noticed the same thing after I donated enough money to help them build the bridge, but while they were supposedly constructing the fountain, I couldn't deposit anything in the town fund. So after a day of fishing out rare specimens in the rain, I found myself with over a hundred grand in bells. Since I couldn't donate, I figured I should probably put some in my bank account. I deposited fifty grand, and oddly, later received a letter from the Bank of Nintendo with a shopping card. Not sure exactly what to do with it, but it says I can use it at select retailers, so I suppose when I finally am flush with enough cash to buy things like the crown or the Gracie furniture at over 100,000 bells each, I don't necessarily have to be walking around with that much cash on me. I can keep it in my bank account and if I've got the shopping card on me, they can just take the bells directly out of my account. Well, that's what I assume, anyway. I don't have enough money yet to see if it's true!

And finally they did put up the fountain. Don't know why it took all week to get to it, because there was nothing, nothing nothing and then suddenly overnight, a fountain. So why they couldn't just build it over that first night, I'll never know. I was getting so frustrated at the town hall dragging their feet over the construction I was seriously considering writing a strongly-worded letter of complaint to my local mayor. Of course, first he'd have to wake up at his desk to read it! Anyway, Tortimer was standing in front of the fountain to celebrate its grand opening, although he admitted that it wasn't going to be much of a celebration because they'd spent all the money on the fountain. So I immediately went to the town hall again to start depositing more money in the town fun. Wonder what we'll get next?

Next week is going to be an interesting one, Diary, because I'm actually going to be out of town for a few days. I'm hoping my boyfriend will step up and keep the town weeded and the flowers watered (especially the hybrids!), but only time will tell. I just hope I don't come back next Friday and find the place overrun with weeds and dead flowers! And hopefully nobody moves out! (Unless Tutu finally wants to hit the road, which as you know, I wouldn't mind one bit...)
