E3 2009: Bioshock 2
It's ten years later, and Rapture has continued to decay. But the underwater city hasn't succumbed to the sea quite yet. And it's time to venture into Rapture once again with the release of 2K Game's Bioshock 2. We got a chance to see the single player and multiplayer in action, and it's looking mighty impressive. This time around, you actually play as one of the Big Daddies, albeit a more powerful, more agile version, so you're not stuck lumbering around Rapture like molasses going uphill in January. And naturally, you'll be able to arm yourself with a variety of weapons beyond the drill (which is awesome by itself) and evolved plasmids. You will adopt a Little Sister and can again to choose whether to harvest the Adam she's collected or spare her life. Don't worry about escort missions, though the only time she's vulnerable to attack from Splicers is when you've set her down to extract Adam. And your nemesis? Big Sister. And she's not kidding around!
While the single player game is a sequel set ten years after the events of the original game, the multiplayer is actually a prequel, set just as Rapture was starting to fall apart. You start the game in your own apartment where you can customize your character, and then take a bathysphere into Rapture proper where you will enter into the game. Up to ten players can battle at a time in three different modes: Team, free-for-all and a secret mode they weren't telling us about yet. There's ten different maps to battle on, full of Circus of Values machines to replenish your health and Eve and turrets which can be turned against your opponents. And when a Big Daddy shows up, killing him will give you the opportunity to don his suit yourself. While Xbox 360 players won't be able to battle their PlayStation 3 counterparts, Bioshock 2 will release on both systems simultaneously on November 3.

I'm assuming the PC version is hitting the same day, right?
