E3 2009: Tekken 6 Hands On
While visiting the Bandai Namco booth, Fruit Brute and I were able to get our hands on Tekken 6, specifically to try out the all-new Scenario Campaign. You can take any of the 40 characters into this new mode where you will battle the usual cannon fodder, but occasionally encounter other main characters in desperate need of a beatdown. If you think it sounds a lot like the old Tekken Force mode, you wouldn't be wrong, but you kind of are because it's a lot more robust than that. When playing solo, you'll have a support character, but you can also play co-op either on- or off-line, jumping in at any time. Also, you can control robots, and pick up and use weapons like bo staffs and machine guns and flamethrowers. When you tire of the endless thugs, there's also destructible environments to bust up, and found items like eggs and chickens not only give you health, but also can be used to buy items. Because customization is a big part of Tekken 6, with the ability to tweak every detail of your character before taking them online to compete. It's looking good!
