GayGamer Week In Review - Week Of 6/01/2009

worldsfair.jpg
  • GayGamer had four writers down at E3 this year - Fruit Brute, Tiny Dancer, Wootini, and Pixel Poet. Their final thoughts and impressions will continue into next week, but for now, check out our June calendar page to see all of last week's coverage.

  • We tried liveblogging the Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, and Sony presentations, some with more success than others. It seems that when they said they were going back to the old E3, they meant before wireless internet was invented.

  • Microsoft's press conference revealed their new camera based motion controller Project Natal and creepy little virtual boy Milo, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo: Reach, and a multiplatform Metal Gear Solid: Rising. They also demonstrated a number of already announced titles.

  • Nintendo's press conference showed off Wii Motion Plus, introduced New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, the Wii Vitality Sensor, and many others.

  • Despite having a few of their big surprises spoiled early, Sony's press conference revealed the PSP Go!, Ico Team's The Last Guardian, and Final Fantasy XIV, an MMO (currently) exclusive to the PC and PS3.

  • Konami announced a 3D, current gen Castlevania title, made with the help of Hideo Kojima, Lords of Shadow.

  • Although it's still a little bit "wat?," NaviFairy explained why you shouldn't write the Wii Vitality Sensor off as just Nintendo being goofy.

  • Despite not showing up at all during the conference, Miyamoto did reveal a piece of concept art for the next Wii Legend of Zelda game.

  • Wootini left his town in capable hands this week in the Animal Crossing Diary, and no one burned anything down or called the cops or anything.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
