Gearbox President Confirms DS Aliens Game

Sega and developer Gearbox have been busy toiling over PS360/PC editions of Aliens: Colonial Marines, but we haven't heard a lot about the game over than "it's still coming" for quite awhile. Yesterday over at Kotaku, Brian Crecente got the usual "it's still in the works" word from Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, but Crecente also got a new tidbit of information that I'm sure will make some xenomorph fans of squirm with excitement. It appears that the dark, slimy, hunky marine snatchers will be swarming their way to a DS near you. The Gearbox president doesn't reveal too much other than the existence of the title, but goes on to say that the DS version is not being developed by them. Who can blame them though? Between work on Aliens: Colonial Marines, the gorgeous looking Boarderlands, and two other unannounced titles, I think they might be stretching themselves a little thin with another title on a new platform.
In totally unrelated news, WayForward Technologies (the creators of Shantae and Mighty Flip Champs!) have been talking to the press recently about an unannounced spiritual successor to their work on Contra 4. As a long time Contra fan, I loved the creativity and finely tuned difficulty WayForward brought to the series and cannot wait to see what they have in store next. Hmmmm, I wonder what they could be working on?
