iPhone 3G S: New Processor, Better For Gaming

As a relatively recent convert to the world of iPhone gaming and development, I must say that on a whole the platform is a rather nice one. It has solid hardware, a decent battery life and lots of little bells and whistles to keep me entertained. The lack of tactile buttons nor haptic feedback is really the only real disadvantages to the platform.
Today at WWDC 2009, Apple formally announced the iPhone 3G S. The platform has this list of new features:
- Improved performance
- 3-megapixel autofocus camera
- Video recording
- Voice Control
- Digital compass
- Cut, Copy & Paste
- MMS3
- Spotlight Search
- Landscape keyboard
- Voice Memos
WWDC also mentioned that the battery will feature an improved battery life. Additionally the platform also feature OpenGL ES 2.0. That means pixelshaders. The downside to this is that OpenGL ES 2.0 does not support the standard fixed pipeline, which could possibly lead to reduced performance of legacy applications. No real word on this as of yet.
