Jumpgate Evolution Undergoing A Few More Changes

For those of you who were looking forward to a June release for NetDevil's Space MMO Jumpgate: Evolution, it looks like you'll be waiting a while longer. The developers have announced that, based on results from their family & friends beta, they are going to delay the game to retool some of it's features. The example given was that they needed to put more polish on the instanced and public PvP systems.
While it sucks not to get a chance to play the game this summer (or at least early summer), I'd say they made the smart move here. A flubbed launch can easily doom an MMO, even if it does have potential. No matter how much better the game gets in the months after release, consumers tend to stick with initial impressions. Age of Conan learned this lesson the hard way.
A decent launch is all the more important for Jumpgate, as they have the currently in-development competition Black Prophecy to think about as well. The developers have stated they are working on their road map for the next few months, and then will announce their new schedule. Hopefuly, it won't take them too long. We need more space MMOs!
